Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday and ends with Easter. This week has been historically celebrated by the Church as the last week of the life of Jesus leading up to His death, burial and resurrection. While we lament not being able to gather as the Church in person, we did want to provide some ways for Holy Week to be one of reflection, communion with and a growing affection for Jesus! The Pastors of Missio Dei are praying to this end.

Each day we will provide a guide filled with a brief overview of the events of the day, Scripture and some reflection resources highlighting the events of the last week of the life of Jesus. These guides will be posted on all of our social media platforms, accessible using the connect tab on our app and can be found by clicking below.

Good Friday is observed each year with a particular gathering that focuses upon the last hours of Jesus’ ministry in laying His life down as a sacrifice for His people.

We will provide a Home Worship Guide that will include a brief teaching, some questions to process with your family, a group of friends or with your Missio Community, some songs to sing along with, and some readings to reflect on the death of Jesus. This guide will be posted on all of our social media platforms, emailed to your inbox and can also be found by clicking below when it is ready.

Easter is typically observed as a celebration of the victory of Jesus’ resurrection. Given our circumstances this year, it would be more faithful to our context to enter into the reality of the first Easter Sunday. The women arrived at the tomb and were confused, but hopeful. The word they delivered to the disciples were confused, but hopeful. Jesus wasn’t currently present with His disciples, but neither was He held by death.
