Getting Started

  • What are some of the acts of "denial" we're familiar with from culture?
  • Describe an instance where you feel you have been betrayed by someone close to you

Community Discussion

  • Peter denied Jesus three times, The second time he did so in front of a watching world. We are a lot like Peter and we deny Jesus when we neglect to confess Him before a watching world. In what ways have we denied Jesus by not proclaiming the gospel of Jesus to them? How have we denied Jesus by denying his ability to restore sinners? What keeps us from telling the good news of the Gospel to our neighbors?
  • We learned that we deny Jesus when we hope for a change of circumstance rather than a change of heart. In what ways have we as a community hoped for better circumstances instead of changed hearts? How does this affect our discipleship inside and outside our community?
  • We were encouraged to confess our weaknesses and fears in response to the Gospel. How have we created space and relationships within our community to encourage confession of weaknesses and fears? What does commitment to Gospel Community look like amongst our community?
